SAFE provide services to individuals and families in our community who are seeking safety and support to rebuild their lives. You can help!
Why Donate?
When you support our program, you help provide survivors of domestic violence and their children with emergency housing and immediate needs to help keep them safe. Beyond that, you help provide them with the tools to build a new violence-free and successful life.
SAFE is essential to improving the quality of life in Tangipahoa, St. Helena, Washington and Livingston Parishes. We provide services that are necessary to rebuild lives destroyed by violence, including a 24-hour crisis hotline; emergency lodging, food and clothing; transitional housing; individual/group support; case management legal advocacy and information and referral services.
Nonprofit organizations nationwide are facing severe financial challenges in the wake of restricted funding. Therefore, we now depend more than ever on the support of our local community to help us continue to provide quality services to those we serve and to grow to accommodate future needs.
How You Can Help:
Monetary Donations: Please consider making a tax-deductible gift, in any amount. Your donation makes it possible for victims and a difference in someone's life.
Gift Card Donations: We welcome gift card donations to places like Wal-Mart, Walgreen’s, gas stations, local grocery stores, etc. These cards help provide for the basic needs of survivors and their children as they start to rebuild their lives.
Wish List Purchases: Please consider helping us meet the needs of our survivors by donating from our Wish List of items we always need for our programs. See below for list.
Employee Giving: Invite a SAFE representative to your workplace and donate through your workplace giving campaign or through United Way. SAFE’s United Way Designation code is xxxxxx.
Honorary & Memorial Gifts: Choose to honor someone special if your life by making a gift in their name that will make a difference. Or remember a loved one’s legacy by donating to our program in their memory.
Volunteering: We are always looking for compassionate individuals to volunteer. Volunteers must complete a 40-hour Domestic Violence Advocate Training program. After completion, participants can pursue volunteer and employment opportunities. The following are volunteer positions that do not require completion of this extensive training:
